Visual Art Projects
Visual artist based in Corrales, New Mexico, currently working on a cultural project addressing animistic cultures in the Four Corners region. Fieldwork studies of hieroglyphs are part of a selective group of pictographs encompassing the universe's origin:
My background with continuous-tone lithographs while working at the UNM printmaking department in the early nineties led me to conceive a graphic language that I utilize today for large-scale permanent mural installations.
With the current project (FOUR CORNER :: LAND PROJECT), I have the conviction to create large LED projections for public spaces such as airports. A particular form of organic animation will engage the viewer in a new visual language. To better understand our more than 65.000 years of human culture.
My recent experience (2019) at the Centre for Experimental Social Sciences, Nuffield College, the University of Oxford, invited me to lecture for a conference titled: "Digital Art: a hieroglyph to 65.000 years of human culture!". Made proof of how the world has taken a new avenue in how different fields of knowledge are coming together.
The above constitutes a cornerstone to my current research to decipher a unifying element that will linger our preColombian heritage to present American Indian tradition. Likewise, a window to a new era in American Indian cosmogony known as the transition of the Fourth World into the Fifth World, a world of purification.
It's incredible to think for a moment how significant is the described region of the American Southwest. The challenges ahead are titanic; nevertheless, the resources of a sound, visual language is the key to opening a door never opened before in how we can learn to remember the future.
